Hello, Alex! Thank you so much for joining us today. First things first, I’d love to know, how did you first discover your passion for music?
Alex: It was my freshman year of high school I was doing my first big assignment ever so I sat down got on the computer and put on YouTube it was then when I clicked on the first ever rap song. It was "Without Me" by Eminem. From there I went down the rabbit hole of Mockingbird, Headlights, and Kim. Those songs just had a certain type of emotion and energy with them that you really cant find anywhere else. That's what drew me this guy got a pen and pad and gave it everything he ever had. That's what I wanted to do and that's my passion behind it.
What three words would you say best summarize your music as a whole?
Alex: I would best describe my music as Energetic, Chill, and Happy.
Tell me about your upcoming new single which is set for release in January.. what is something very special about it?
Alex: My newest single will be called "The Ending That Came Full Circle". What stands out about in my opinion is that it's a deeper song that has a listener hear the songs emotions to their full extent.
In your opinion, what separates you the most from other artists in your genre?
Alex: I think what separates me from other pop artists is how I get my songs across. My songs are clean for the most part. I can only put down what I relate to and try to push aside the façade that so many singers try to portray themselves as. So to summarize your not listening to a rock star, or a gangster rapper, you're listening to AL.
Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… in what ways has music helped you?
Alex: Music has given me so much in this lifetime. I am proud of myself for what I have made and the joy I have brought to others with my music. There is so much more I can do, but the art I have made for the world has given me a sense of accomplishment that will never go away.
