INTERVIEW

Hello, Treviar! Thank you for joining us today. I’d love to know, when did you first discover your passion for music?

Treviar: Thank you for having me! It's an honor. I honestly discovered my passion for music as a kid. I learned to sing before I learned how to talk. At about three, I started playing the drums. Thankfully, my parents recognized the gift and spoke to it. They began to train my ear and assist me in honing my talents. Needless to say, I was doing music EARLY. I can't imagine my life without it at this point.

What is your interpretation of being an artist? What does it mean to you?

Treviar: Being an artist, to me, means living in my true and authentic light. The reason why I have gotten as far as I have is that I've not let anyone sway me from being what and whom I wanted to be. I think a lot of artists delay the path they are on simply because they try to fit their image to what people want to see vice what their natural soul radiates.

You have some really great songs on Spotify! I’d like to know, do you have a favorite song that you’ve released thus far? Why is it your favorite?

Treviar: As of right now, my favorite song is "MVP". I love that song because of the vibe that it has. It's one of my go-to songs whenever I need some kind of pick me up. Honestly, it's ALWAYS hard to say I have ONE favorite. I think all my music goes hard. It's hard to pick a favorite because I don't fabricate for the sake of content. Everything I talk about is real shit that I do.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… in what ways has music helped you?

Treviar: Music literally saved my life MULTIPLE times. It's been my therapist, my medicine, my peace, etc. It has also allowed me a different way to express myself and my "feelings". Again, since all of my subject matters are my real life, once I make the song I feel a release. I'm not the person I used to be and a lot of that has to do with what I've learned through this journey.

Tell me about your upcoming album release this summer.. can you tell me something special about it?

Treviar: THIS RELEASE IS ABOUT TO BE LIT! What makes me excited about this release is the fact that I took my time on it. Normally, I can make an album in three days. This one has been in the works since BEFORE my last release. It's definitely going to sound a lot more mature than my other content. I'm excited because of the extra things that I am releasing with this album. It's about to get lit for me. I've been trying to be quiet about this album so not many people even know what to expect. I like that.
