INTERVIEW

Hello, Caillie! Thank you so much for joining us today. First things first, I’d love to know, how did you first discover your passion for music?

Caillie: I first discovered my love and passion when I was a little kid. I have vivid memories of being in the living room with my dad jamming out on piano and vibing along with him. Composing melodies, sounds, and poetry became a lifestyle for me early on and they are still artforms I enjoy to this day.

What three words would you say best summarize your music as a whole?

Caillie: Positive, soulful, heartfelt.

Tell me about your upcoming single "Someday” which will be releasing on April 17th, what is something very special about this song?

Caillie: You know it’s funny, because I feel like sometimes artists either release songs too soon or wait too long. With this single I actually wrote the original idea when I was 18, put it down and I ended up picking it back up. Now it’s coming out here in 2023. Back in February, I released a heavier modern pop-rock break-up track. With my new single, I wanted to deliver a more acoustic pop feel with a positive message.

I’m curious, what exactly is your songwriting process like?

Caillie: My songwriting process changes song to song, situation to situation, room to room. If I am writing solo I need to aligned, cued into my own artistry while being open to spontaneity. If I am collaborating I need to be connected and synchronized with the other writers in the room with artistic values, beliefs, and principles. Some say that the genesis of composition is improvisation and I try to embody that in my approach. I like to play and write everyday.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… in what ways has music helped you?

Caillie: Music will always help people emotionally heal and come to peace with the world we live in. Also, music gives me purpose and generates revenue for me as an artist. I think its important as an artist to focus on what brings you success and happiness. That all fuels the process. When you do something you love it helps you elevate yourself. You are supported by the positive energy you put out to the world and the community of listeners that you cultivate. We help through connection. Sometimes that’s through other people, a song, or a message.
