Hello, Or Golan! Thank you very much for joining us today. First things first, could you tell me when you discovered your passion for music?


Or Golan: When you were born a different person not everything falls on you from heaven, at the age of 18 I realized that God gave me something. I realized that I was as special as I was, I did not have to do weird things. It took another four years until I released my first album in music and things started moving at a crazy pace, so here I am.


What three words would you say best describe your music as a whole?


Or Golan: It comes to me from God, my feelings are something I do not part with, they come with me everywhere. You could also say about my music that it's extravaganza but that's for your judgment.


In your opinion, what separates you the most from other artists out there?


Or Golan: I draw fire naturally, I do not know how to set it in life. Everything I do will be said about me, will be looked at. I know I'm different, no one will take it from me.


If you were an advertisement, what would your slogan be?


Or Golan: Circus Here I come! There's such an effect in TikTok that you can see what song describes you and I got Britney Spear's song, "Circus". If I symbolize the comeback of the singer I love the most, I am blessed.


I’d like to know a little more about how you first got started as a songwriter - could you tell me some about that?


Or Golan: Being a music composer and certainly being an artist is really not easy, it is the most difficult profession in the world. I can teach everyone a thing or two about how to produce a career. You must make an exit of your life every day, market yourself as if you are breathing. You must be in a different country every day, you must learn to spin the plate of talent that God has given you so well that they will talk about you without you doing anything.


Tell me about your music release titled, “I am Greedy”.. what is something very special about it?


Or Golan: This hit is my card to enter the show business world. This is the world of illusions. God gave me a song (just a minute and thirty-one seconds) to spin the whole world on my little finger. With this song I performed in Times Square, I did countless plays around the world, so many interviews for radio stations in the world, magazines, first places in the charts, TV articles. So many things from one song and everything happens in a boom, it has a lot of mental price too.


You have some really great songs on Spotify! I’d like to know, do you have a favorite song you’ve released thus far? Why is it your favorite?


Or Golan: I have made close to 200 songs in my career: electronic, pop, ballads, film music, concert music, world music, rock. But the star that stood out was, "I am Greedy".


What is your interpretation of being an artist? What does it mean to you?


Or Golan: Music is my life, literally. No kidding with you now, if God had not given me my talent nothing would have come out of me, because my life is really not a whipped cream cake. Being stuttering and having a disease like FMF is really not easy for me, lots of doors close for me just from that. So music really saved me.


I’m curious, what is your songwriting process like?


Or Golan: All my melodies come to me whole from God, He has given me a tremendous talent that I thank Him for every day. I do not even remember how I made these melodies, because I never learned musical notes, I never learned to create melody, things like that are big things from life.


Do you feel being a songwriter has always been your calling?


Or Golan: This is really my vocation, I once went to the opener with tarot cards and she told me a sentence that I will never forget: You have tremendous spiritual and artistic ability, you must take advantage of it for great things.


Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… in what ways has music helped you?


Or Golan: Never judge a person externally, look inside and from there the light will come out.


How do you want your music to help or affect other people?


Or Golan: Only dancing and singing activates our half of the brain, if an artist manages to get so many people to dance. Your history is recorded. Selling 205,000 copies in this world is no joke.

If you didn’t like music, what would you be doing?


Or Golan: Before I introduced myself as a national musician, I wrote four books in Hebrew so yes a writer is an option.


Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?


Or Golan: It all depends on your luck, and if your luck is wrong then fix it. You choose what your life will look like, you will create new opportunities for yourself in life, you will be theatrical, you will be a master of stage performance, you will push the media, you will rock people. At the end it will open, and when it opens you are on a wave of success, only you will learn how to maintain it, but that for another time.


What advice would you give to other independent artists who are aspiring to do what you have done?


Or Golan: Know what it's like to be an artist, fuck everything that moves, it's you and the world.


Who are some other notable artists that influence your sound and style the most?


Or Golan: There are plenty but Britney Spears tops the list, Dana International and many other great singers.


What would your idyllic life as an artist look like?


Or Golan: Always look at the next thing you do, do not listen to anyone in your life, especially not to such mentors, because they are bullshit. Interview every newspaper, radio station, TV, podcast you can find. Media coverage is the first thing an artist can build a career.

Where will you be performing next?


Or Golan: I do not make open performances to the audience, because ACUM, which is like ASCAP only in Israel, completely complicated me. The police in Israel closed the case for me because they think I invented a story for them, no one in the State of Israel recognizes me as an artist, because the radio and television here they only love singers in oriental music so I'm out. I only have the world left to promote my music.


What is the next “big thing” the world can expect from you, Or Golan?


Or Golan: 19. A Super Bowl appearance is a huge dream for me, to do a Eurovision, maybe get a star on the Avenue of the Stars in Hollywood.
