INTERVIEW

Hello, Lil Moni! Thank you for joining us today. I’d love to know, when did you first discover your passion for music?

Lil Moni: I first discovered my passion for music when I got locked and while I was locked up. I kept getting angry and into fights so I thought to myself about my future and what I wanted it to be. So instead of getting angry and not wanting to express my feelings I wrote down poems and they turned to raps about my life.

I’m curious, how did you come up with your unique artist name?

Lil Moni: I was always called Moni because my name was supposed to be Armoni because when my mom was pregnant with me in her stomach the doctors told her I was a girl.

What three words would you say best summarize your music as a whole?

Lil Moni: Real, Pain, Conquer.

What is your interpretation of being an artist? What does it mean to you?

Lil Moni: Being a artist mean telling your story and what you went through and how you overcame it. It’s not always about a image that you want to show.

You have some really great songs on Spotify! I’d like to know, do you have a favorite song that you’ve released thus far?

Lil Moni: My favorite song that I released is called "Ain’t Stressing" and when I made it it just made me feel powerful.

Tell me about your upcoming new single titled, “I Remember”.. what is something very special about it?

Lil Moni: This will be my first dance song like something you can get up and dance to.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… in what ways has music helped you?

Lil Moni: I started writing to cope with my angry because of how much I had of it now I feel great. Music gives me the option to express the feelings I have and not have anyone feel some way about it.

Who would you say is your number one musical influence?

Lil Moni: I would probably say Lil Durk.

In your opinion, what separates you from other artists in your genre?

Lil Moni: My style and what I talk about. I tell stories about my life in all my songs and when I make my music I make it so others with the same feeling can share them and relate.

What is the next “big thing” the world can expect from you?

Lil Moni: The next big thing the world can expect is me being more consistent then I have been, there will be more videos, more songs, and so much more.
