Hello, SVINT JIMMY! Thank you very much for joining us today. First things first, could you tell me when you discovered your passion for music?
SVINT JIMMY: I just been exposed to music from hella young. Like all sorts of different things. Some would surprise my audience I think. But that just kind of inspired me to get into it in some form or another and my whole love affair with rap & hip hop just came from that. Then Kanye dropped 808s and I was just like, "Oh damn, I wanna make that". So I really owe everything to my family for exposing me to a wide variety of music from a young age and Kanye for creating the album that gave me the spark to create my own art.
What three words would you say best describe your style & music as a whole?
SVINT JIMMY: Polarizing, rage, and unique.
In your opinion, what separates you the most from other artists out there?
SVINT JIMMY: Every artist out there these days especially in the UK just jump on trends and follow the flow of that to bring them success. It waters down the music in the long run. I don’t do that. I don’t follow these dead trends just to get five minutes of fame. My music is for the outsiders who know what’s real and authentic and in my eyes that’s a rare breed now days. I got the authenticity in rap that’s slowly been disappearing and that’s what sets me apart from the rest even if it does force me to the outside that really doesn’t phase me.
Tell me about your upcoming EP titled "A London Rap Sigil".. what is something special about it?
SVINT JIMMY: "A London Rap Sigil" is gonna be a bit of the same mixed with some of my deepest cuts I’ve released to date. It really is my soul on record. Songs for the ragers. Songs for the heartbroken. Songs for the deep thinkers. It’s by far the most diverse project I’ve ever worked on.
What is the next “big thing” the world can expect from you?
SVINT JIMMY: I ain’t really one to reveal too many of my secrets but I do have a few international collabs in the works once the EP is out the way. I see a lot of fans from Germany and Mexico in my analytics so I know I gotta bring something for them to get excited about. Stay tuned for that.
