Known on stage as her alter ego Melotika, Mel Yelle is redefining what it is to be a Pop artist. Also referred to as non-commercial Electropop/Retro-Pop, her sound is heavily influenced by artists such as Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Madonna, Evanescence, Metric, Portishead, Silversun Pickups, and music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Blending eclectic and stimulating sounds with carefully crafted, infectious, dance-able tunes, she stands for self-confidence and embraces individuality.
After releasing a collection of singles in 2021 leading up to her Retro-Pop inspired solo EP titled, "Dancing Without You", she is now focused on promoting her new single "Digital Dreams" which was released on February 25th, 2022. Melotika calls this project and more releases to come the ‘Rise’ of "Dancing Without You", breaking new ground continuing her trend of genre bending with an upbeat, Dance-Pop style.
In "Digital Dreams", Melotika sings about our obsessions with being online and social media making light out of a dark situation since the global pandemic and partaking in the new virtual world. "Digital Dreams" has a reminiscent aesthetic and sounds entirely new all at the same time. Melotika’s sultry vocals are commanding and invites us into her new digital dreamy universe. This Dance-Pop track is shaped by 80s, Disco and early 2000’s throwbacks.
